Main-contractor thinking built into every fabrication and check.
Steel & Glass Solutions (SGS) delivers assured metalwork for transport infrastructure, combining main-contractor insight with advanced fabrication. Recent work includes Crossrail at Bond Street and Whitechapel and Copthall Vent Shafts (HS2), where scope delivery was supported by robotic and laser welding and AR-assisted verification.
A specialist metalwork partner for complex, safety-critical transport and infrastructure environments. We focus on compliant design intent, coordinated interfaces and buildable solutions that respect programme, access and operational constraints.
Our teams work with main contractors and designers to translate specification and drawings into controlled fabrication and installation, so tolerances, finish requirements and inspection hold points are clear from the outset. Documentation, traceability and safe sequencing underpin our approach, helping project teams evidence conformance while keeping adjacent works moving.
Proven on Major Transport
SGS has contributed to Crossrail (Elizabeth line) at Bond Street and Whitechapel stations. These environments presented tight access, complex interfaces with station systems, and high expectations on accuracy and quality.
On Copthall Vent Shafts (HS2), our scope is looking to be one of the earliest completed elements on the project. Following our practical approach to site access and sequencing, aligned with programme needs, the current delivery helped de-risk interfaces and enable subsequent activities.
Capability & Quality Assurance
SGS continues to invest in throughput and repeatability. With robotic and laser welding capability supporting consistent, high-quality, and efficient production for standardised components. We have recently implemented augmented reality to assist in enhancing efficient quality control, tolerance checks and early clash avoidance before parts leave the workshop.
